The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be streamed live on Netflix.
British boxer Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "break" the American as the two fighters met personally to build hype for the upcoming boxing match.
Ex twice unified heavyweight champion Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami arena on December 19th.
Boxer's Mentality
"I'm going to injure his face and break his body up. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I will really want to hurt him. That's my goal."
Respectful Interaction
In spite of such comments, a composed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically famous for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.
Paul rather targeted former Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian declined a fight offer.
Targeting Fury
Joshua, meanwhile, targeted British rival Tyson Fury - and declined a large bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a victory for Paul.
"Jake Paul is superior to Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua said.
"I give him credit for that."
Legitimate Opponent
Despite declaring he will punish Paul, Joshua refused to speak negatively about his rival's fighting skills.
"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.
Paul's Background
Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.
He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.
Financial Success
However, the relative newcomer remains one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, regularly earning massive paydays.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28 year old predicted a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would prevent the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly under discussion for 2026.
"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul declared.
Size Disparity
As Joshua and Paul engaged in the customary stare-down, with their size difference evident, it emphasized just how improbable this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the match is really proceeding.
